Eitr currently has an opening for a Scientist I/II - CMC position, requiring the qualifications and responsibilities listed below.

Responsibilities

Perform protein purifications and develop purification methods for various types of proteins expressed in mammalian and bacterial cultures
Assess quantity and quality of the purified protein via SDS-PAGE, UV/Vis Spectroscopy, Size Exclusion HPLC, and other methods as needed
Test formulations and stability for the lead candidates
Ability to independently carry out tasks and duties as assigned, generally with minimal oversight or supervision
Prepare buffers, reagents, and other materials necessary for experiments
Records experimental data, writes data summaries in digital lab notebook
Contributes to drafting of technical reports, as necessary
Ensures lab cleanliness and safety by maintaining equipment and keeping all samples properly labeled and stored
Maintains common lab supply stocks as needed and general lab maintenance
Performs internet searches to gather relevant information, record and present any relevant findings in a manner pursuant to facility protocol
Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Basic Qualifications

M.S. in a biology related discipline with a minimum of 6 years of experience in an academic and/or industry setting
Extensive experience with protein purification and method development for various chromatography methods such as Protein A, IMAC, Anion-exchange, and Cation-exchange chromatography
Experience in using Cytiva AKTA FPLC systems and Unicorn software
Ability to perform experiments with good aseptic technique
Knowledge of protein biochemistry
Ability to follow written procedures/protocols precisely
Good communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills are essential

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in performing and developing analytical method such as Size Exclusion HPLC, BLI, and CE-SDS
Experience in performing and developing impurities assays such as residual DNA, host cell protein, and leached ligand
Experience in protein formulation and stability testing
Experience with independently designing and troubleshooting experiments
Experience with electronic or digital lab notebooks and data entry
Experience with infectious disease immunotherapeutics

Benefits

Eitr reasonably expect the annual base compensation for this role to be between $100,000 and $135,000. Subject to certain terms and conditions, the role will be eligible for a generous PTO policy including vacation, sick, and holiday time, medical, dental, and vision coverage, and up to 6% 401(k) contributions.
