Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Patent Legal Assistant / Paralegal to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in legal matters and possess excellent organizational skills to provide support our patent attorneys.

Duties

Proofreading, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Professionalism in confidentiality, communications, and attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize tasks, follow up with attorneys, clients, and other parties, and assist attorneys in tracking work.
Initial responsibilities will include preparation and/or proofreading and communication (email and mail) of correspondence to clients; maintaining files; preparation and editing of documents in MS Word, Timekeeping software, FoundationIP, MS Excel, and Adobe XI; pre-filing processing of submissions to the US Patent and Trademark Office; assisting in Internet research.

Experience

A qualified candidate will have an eagerness to learn and a positive attitude; and will be an active member of the team, proactively requesting and taking on additional responsibilities in the support of the attorneys' practice. The IP Assistant/Paralegal will gain proficiency in a wide array of projects.

Education

Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred. Relevant postsecondary training/education/experience will be considered.
