*Job Summary*

Our client is lookingfor a Legal Assistant to provide support to attorneys in a law firm or legal department by assisting with various legal tasks and administrative duties. Must be able to commute 2 times a week to clients office.

*Duties*

- Transcribe legal documents and correspondence accurately

- Assist with document review and file management

- Conduct legal research using resources such as Westlaw

- Assist in drafting legal documents, contracts, and agreements

- Support attorneys in preparing for trials and hearings

- Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing calendars

- Assist with client communication and follow-ups

File pleadings in State Court.
File pleadings in Federal Court.
Schedule hearings in State Court.
Set Depositions on Federal and State Matters.
Type Pleadings such as Answers and Affirmative Defenses, Discovery Requests, Motions, etc. in both Federal and State Court.
Answer incoming Phone calls.
Maintain an internal filing system.

*Requirements*

- Proficiency in legal terminology and procedures

- Knowledge of Workers Compensation Law, Patent Law, or related areas is a plus

- Experience with legal software such as PCLaw is beneficial

- Strong writing skills for legal drafting and correspondence

- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $21.14 - $22.26 per hour
