Our client, a highly regarded and growing law firm in Salt Lake City, is seeking a Legal Assistant in their Patent Prosecution division. Ideal candidates will possess experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal in the Intellectual Property/Patent Prosecution field. This role will support a highly successful team and play a pivotal role providing support to Attorneys and their clients. What will the Legal Assistant be doing?

Assisting the Patent Prosecution practice group with a variety of administrative support
Maintaining electronic filing systems and client files
Reviewing and uploading USPTO filings, applications, and prosecution documents
Drafting and formatting documents such as application templates, inventor signature documents, information disclosures statements, and other correspondence
Managing dockets and deadlines
Overseeing Attorney’s schedules, coordinating meetings, arranging travel, etc.
Assisting with invoicing and billing records, assisting clients with any billing issues
Managing Attorney’s billable hours and maintaining records
Communicating with internal teams, clients, inventors, and the USPTO office
Other duties as assigned

What is required to apply?

5+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal
2+ years of experience in patent prosecution required
Experienced with USPTO filings
Prior experience in a law firm highly desired
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High degree of professionalism
Ability to manage confidential information
Proficient typing, 70+ WPM
Strong organizational skills
Excellent proofreading and editing skills
Ability to multitask and juggle multiple deadlines
Excellent researching skills
Willingness to be proactive and assist team wherever needed
