Platt Richmond is looking for an experienced Litigation Paralegal to manage state and federal litigation cases. This role will work directly with the firm’s litigation partners, senior associates, of counsel attorneys, and our litigation paralegal team on exciting matters both in Texas and across the country, including commercial, real estate, and intellectual property litigation, class action defense, and other business disputes. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of state and federal litigation experience and one year of trademark litigation or prosecution experience. Patent litigation experience is strongly preferred. You will be working with attorneys that are technologically savvy, highly competent, and who view the competent paralegal as highly valued part of the successful litigation team.
This individual will oversee daily case management tasks such as daily filing management, preparation of pleadings, case scheduling, and interfacing with clients. The position requires light clerical tasks with the support of a knowledgeable administrative staff. Excellent problem solving and communication skills are essential to this position, including taking ownership of all cases (i.e., staying on top of deadlines, creating shells, being proactive, etc.). Assistance with legal research may also be required.

Responsibilities
- Act as liaison between court administrators, attorneys and Judges
- Observe docket reports & maintain case deadlines
- Draft pleading and discovery shells
- E-file all documents and coordinate courtesy copies as necessary
- Process document production and perform document review
- Manage scheduling correspondence between opposing counsel and attorneys
- Coordinate depositions and court reporters
- Prepare pleadings, rebuttals, and exhibits for use at trial
- Answer and direct litigation client calls
- Draft and review outgoing correspondence related to cases
- Perform filing, photocopying, scanning and faxing as necessary
- Assist with section training as necessary
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of state and federal litigation experience in a law firm
- High School diploma required
- Minimum of 1 year of trademark litigation or prosecution is strongly preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or Paralegal Certificate are preferred
- Patent litigation is strongly preferred
- Proficient in English (oral and written)
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and E-file software/websites
- Familiarity with billable hours and ability to track efficiently
- Strong communication skills
- Comfort in face to face attorney interaction and providing daily reminders
- Good organizational and multi-tasking abilities
- Problem-solving skills and ability to work autonomously
