Polsinelli is hiring and has an opening for an experienced trademark paralegal with at least 5 years of experience to assist its Intellectual Property Department’s Trademark, Copyright and Branding Practice Group. This role can be in any city we have an office.
The skills and responsibilities required for the position is as follows:
Core Responsibilities
- Responsible for billing 1600 hours/year
- Comprehensive knowledge of Intellectual Property, including global trademark rules and procedures, as well as keep abreast of department best practices and guidelines
- Exception verbal and written skills with attorneys, clients, foreign agents and USPTO personnel, as well as administrative and management skills to coordinate trademark prosecution for multiple, high-tech global trademark portfolios
- Prepare and file US and international trademark applications and prosecution and maintenance documents
- Conduct trademark searches
- Manage trademark docket with US and international deadlines, communicate with attorneys and docketing regarding docket entries and status of the same, as well as
- Create, maintain, and update client portfolio reports identifying status of trademark applications and registrations, as well as coordinate client reporting of trademark services and deadline reminders, etc.
- Manage intake of newly acquired trademark portfolios as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Skills
- Proficient knowledge of US and international trademark rules and procedures
- Proficient in preparation and filing of US and international trademark applications and prosecution documents, and well as trademark searches
- Utilize global trademark knowledge to accurately update docket and manage client portfolios, including uploading documents to docketing and DMS systems, as well as any required client portals
- Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task
- Strong organization skills and ability to effectively set priorities, meet deadlines and manage multiple projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Exceptional typing skills and ability to draft and/or edit documents accurately and quickly
- Critical thinker who works efficiently, using available technology and strives to make tasks easier and more efficient
- Proficient in iManage, CPi, Intapp, Carpe Diem, iManage, Adobe and Microsoft programs (Word, Excel and Outlook)
Requirements
- 5+ years of trademark experience (US and International)
- Prior experience with managing client portfolios
- Docketing knowledge and experience, with CPi software preferred
- Paralegal Certificate required; Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred

The budgeted salary range for this position is $90,000 - $125,000.
