IP Docketing Administrator performs a critical role supporting the IPTS Legal Practice Area within the Technology/Life Sciences Business Unit by maintaining patent prosecution matters. This position works closely with attorneys, paralegals and IP Administrators to deliver cost effective, efficient work product for our clients.
What You’ll Do:
- Review incoming mail related to patent annuities. Analyze and calculate applicable deadlines against the annuity docket.
- Monitor annuity docket for deadlines, communicating with the legal team.
Prepare and send annuity reminders to clients, requesting instructions for payment.
Track client responses and maintain a personal docket for instructing the annuity service to pay/not pay, according to the clients' instructions.
Prepare annuity reports for clients or the legal team upon request.
Profile and save all annuity communications in appropriate workspaces in iManage.
Assist with data review to ensure accuracy of system information.
Coordinate with representatives from the annuity service provider.
Who You Are:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in an IP docketing environment, preferably with annuity or foreign patent prosecution experience.
This position interfaces directly with firm clients, so excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills , both written and verbal.
Strong attention-to-detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Sound judgment and ability to respect, protect and maintain highly confidential and sensitive information.
Must work well in team environment and maintain a positive team atmosphere.
Proficiency with standard office software (MS Excel, Word, Outlook, Internet Search Engines, etc.) required.
Strong experience with docketing software (CPI).
Annuity experience highly desired, not required; familiarity with foreign laws related to patent prosecution and annuities.
