About The Role
We are looking for a Vice President of Human Resources, reporting to the COO, who will partner with the Executive Leadership Team and lead human resources functions. This is a unique opportunity as you will be a key member of Extend playing a pivotal role in advancing and shaping human resources strategy, process and infrastructure customized for Extend, aligning with Extend’s vision and values. The Vice President, Human Resources will provide thought leadership and execute on all areas of HR, including employee relations, talent management, performance management, training & development, compliance, and total rewards. You will play a critical role in shaping the future of our workforce.
This role is based in our NYC office at least 3 days per week for the purpose of in-person relationship building and coaching team members who work in the office
HR Business Partner
- Serve as a strategic business partner to the executive leadership team, providing advice and guidance on key organizational and management issues for all HR-related matters
- Build and execute HR strategy and OKRs to create a high-performance culture that promotes driving business results and living our values
- Lead the annual benefits renewal process in partnership with our PEO and create strategies to maintain or improve our existing packages and offerings
- Partner with Finance on payroll processes and all employee movements, particularly managing compensation and leaves of absence
Employee Relations
- Provide a space for employee concerns balancing risk management for the company
- Support people leaders with best practices and counsel for team management
- Coach employees at all levels of the company
Talent Acquisition And Management
- Lead the end-to-end recruiting process
- Oversee the onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure seamless integration of new hires and smooth separation of departing employees, respectively
- Develop retention strategies to maintain a motivated and engaged workforce
- Lead company-wide performance assessments and compensation cycles
Engagement
- Drive internal communications and change management tactics to implement HR initiatives

THE CANDIDATE
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in a Senior HR role, an empathetic and passionate leader with 10+ years of progressive experience in HR functions; including working in start-up/small company environments working with Software Engineers
- Experience leading organizational change and demonstrated ability to empower and influence people at all levels of the organization;
- Proven ability to create a partnership with teams that is people-centric and value-adding
- Active listener with strong conflict resolution capabilities and critical thinking skills
- Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing People strategies that engage, promote, and support an inclusive and equitable workplace
- Experience working with Professional Employer Organization (PEO)
- In-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to the day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance
- Data-oriented, results-driven professional with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- SPHR , SHRM-SCPP or other human resources certifications

The salary range for this role is $170,000-$200,000. Your final base salary will be determined based on various factors which may include, but are not limited to location, work experience, skills, knowledge, education and/or certifications. You may be eligible to participate in Extend’s annual bonus plan, based on individual and company performance
