I am a business owner in Florida, looking to open a new virtual law firm in AZ, by utilizing their Alternative Business Structure program.
This allows non lawyers to own and operate a law firm, and requires an AZ active bar member to serve as the compliance attorney on staff.
The right candidate can serve in just a compliance role, or also receive a large split for work performed as well.
Firm will focus on utilization of AI for document drafting, and all marketing and leads will be handled for the attorneys on staff. Large majority of the backend and paperwork will be handled by AI as well.
This is a long application process, expected 7-9 months for approvals to operate.
Ideal candidate would be listed on our application as compliance attorney, and can assist with paperwork process as they like to ensure its expeditious approvals for a nominal fee.
Compensation would be determined upon involvement and flexibility, we propose to pay 5% of all gross revenues of the firm to compliance attorney on 6 month contracts to pace plans with growth. Can also discuss similar equity position for right candidate.
This is in addition to work the attorney would like to perform at a split tbd. Plan is for large scale firm in the state with a focus on trusts, estates, contract drafting and review, immigration, and other paperwork heavy fields that would benefit from AI paralegal style support.
Local candidate preferred however remote is acceptable for the approval process which will take most of 2025.
Overview

Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as Lexis-Nexis to support case preparation and strategy.
- Represent clients in court proceedings, negotiations, and other legal matters.
- Draft legal documents including contracts, pleadings, and motions.
- Advise clients on their legal rights and obligations in various areas of law.
- Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that may affect clients.
- Collaborate with other attorneys and legal staff to ensure comprehensive case management.
- Maintain accurate records of all client interactions and case progress.
Experience
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Experience in family law, patent law, or tribal law regulations is preferred.
- Proficiency in legal research methodologies and tools.
- Previous experience working in a law office setting is highly desirable.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to advocate effectively for clients.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
