ATTORNEYS TITLE FUND SERVICES
Summary:
Search and examine title records and create accurate title commitments and other reports in a timely fashion, focusing on basic to moderately complex title orders. Promptly answer member’s questions and resolve moderately complex title issues.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Apply title examination knowledge and Fund standards to search title records to identify the records that may affect basic to moderately complex title orders. Learn and apply basic-to-moderate mapping to identify accurate search parameters.
- Apply title examination knowledge and Fund standards to organize the search results into an accurate chain of title for basic to moderately complex title orders.
- Apply title examination knowledge and Fund standards to examine all the documents in the chain of title for validity based on knowledge of legal descriptions, real property law and The Fund’s Title notes.
- Apply title examination knowledge and Fund standards to validate that base title is within Fund guidelines, determine how apparent title is vested and what qualifies as an outstanding lien or encumbrance for basic to moderately complex title orders.
- Apply title examination knowledge and Fund standards to prepare final title products, including the attachment of applicable records and tax information.
- Apply title examination knowledge and Fund standards to interact with internal and external customers to answer questions, discuss findings and assist in resolution of basic to moderately complex title problems. Effectively coordinate with the underwriting attorneys as required.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
- Title examination experience or equivalent title industry experience is required. Title examination experience in a customer-centric, production environment is preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of the title insurance and information industry is required
- Knowledge of The Fund’s customer facing applications is preferred
- Ability to learn new information and build knowledge over time
- Ability to plan and organize work to meet goals, including occasional project assignments.
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to identify problems and provide resolutions to basic to moderately complex title issues.
- Ability to work effectively with members, team members and mentors
- Ability to work in a time sensitive production environment
- Basic math proficiency and the ability to learn basic to moderate mapping
