The Dallas office of Baker Hostetler is recruiting candidates to fill a Patent Agent position on the IP Patent Prosecution Team in the Intellectual Property Practice Group. The qualifications for this role are as follows:
Requirements:
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Physics, or Electrical Engineering
- Must have at least one year of law firm experience
- Interested candidates must be registered to practice before the USPTO
Primary responsibilities:
- Meeting with clients
- Conducting patentability analyses
- Drafting patent applications
- Prosecuting patent applications
- Performing diligence related to patents
Candidates will exhibit the following:

- Strong substantive industry experience
- Excellent drafting and research skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to convey complex legal principles clearly and concisely

- Ability to identify issues and provide suggestions for day-to-day problems
- History of sharing information by using data and information to support an argument or point of view
