Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Contract Attorney to join our legal team. As a Contract Attorney, you will be responsible for providing legal services to our clients on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation and a thorough understanding of various areas of law, including environmental, securities, patent, and immigration law. The successful applicant will have excellent research skills, the ability to negotiate effectively, and a strong understanding of estate planning. Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research to support litigation and other legal matters
- Utilize Lexis-Nexis and other legal research tools to gather relevant information
- Litigate cases in state and federal courts
- Provide legal advice to clients on a wide range of legal issues, including environmental and securities law
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients and opposing counsel
- Draft legal documents, including contracts, wills, and trusts
- Assist with estate planning and probate matters
- Stay up-to-date with changes in relevant laws and regulations
- Collaborate with other attorneys and support staff to achieve case goals
Experience:
- Must have a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Must be licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction
- Significant experience in litigation, with a focus on environmental, securities, patent, and immigration law
- Proven track record of successfully negotiating contracts and agreements
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Experience with law office software and tools
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work
Skills:
- Litigation experience
- Proficiency with Lexis-Nexis
- Knowledge of environmental, securities, patent, and immigration law
