Job Summary:
We are seeking a Technical Advisor or Patent Agent with 2-5 years of experience to join our team for our client's Intellectual Property and Technology Practice Group, Patent Development and Strategy Subgroup for the This position is open to the Boston, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Reston, San Diego, Palo Alto, and Seattle offices. The ideal candidate will have experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications. Candidates who have litigation, opinions, licensing, patent due diligence, and/or trademark experience are preferred, but not required. Candidates must have at least a bachelor's degree in molecular biology, graduate / PhD level preferred. All candidates must be registered with the USPTO.
Responsibilities
- Drafts patent applications.
- Drafts responses to USPTO office actions.
- Works closely with attorneys for patent preparation and prosecution.
- Drafts instructions to foreign patent agents in response to office actions.
- Maintains a detailed understanding of products and technical developments.
- Conducts patentability studies and drafts related assessments.
- Provides technical support for opinions, diligence projects and litigation.
- Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education
- 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree
- Molecular Biology degree
Preferred Education
Certificates
- Registration with the USPTO
Experience
- 2+ years of experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications.
- Prior experience in a large or mid-sized law firm preferred.
- Litigation, opinions, licensing, patent due diligence, and/or trademark experience preferred.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $120,000.00 - $225,000.00 per year
