As a Paralegal, you will play a crucial role in supporting attorneys with legal research, document preparation, and case management. Your expertise will contribute to the efficient operation of the law firm.
Responsibilities
- Assist in drafting legal documents, including briefs, pleadings, and contracts.
- Manage and organize case files and documents for easy retrieval.
- Communicate with clients and external parties professionally via phone and email.
- Review and summarize legal documents for attorneys.
- Assist with estate planning, patent law matters, and tribal law regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Perform administrative tasks to support attorneys as needed.
- Assist with initial client meetings to gather necessary information and help determine the best services to offer based on their needs.
- Draft and edit legal documents, including wills, trusts, probate forms, and other estate planning documents.
- Review and document clients' financial information to support estate planning and probate administration.
- Review and assess creditors' claims against decedent estates.
- Prepare estate tax returns and ensure timely filing.
- Prepare inventories, real estate transfer deeds, and other required documents for the transfer of real estate in probate matters.
- Assist with trial preparation, including the preparation of exhibits and other related documentation.
- Create and maintain a calendar of critical dates, ensuring all deadlines are met and filings are submitted on time.
- Communicate with clients both verbally and in writing to provide updates, answer questions, and ensure smooth progress of the probate process.
- Be proficient in using the firm’s Practice Management Software for tracking client information, deadlines, and documents.
- Conduct legal research using resources such as Lexis-Nexis and other databases.

- Experience as a paralegal, preferably in probate or estate planning law.
- Proficiency in drafting legal documents, managing creditors' claims, and preparing estate tax returns.
- Familiarity with real estate transfers in the context of probate administration.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Proficiency with legal practice management software is required.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with the legal team.
- Proficiency in legal research methodologies.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Familiarity with estate planning and tribal law regulations is advantageous.
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills.
- Ability to handle document review efficiently.
- Understanding of administrative tasks within a legal setting.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
