We are seeking a dynamic and organized Intellectual Property Paralegal to join our team.

We are seeking additional paralegals to join our team and contribute to the growth of the firm. The position is appropriate both for long-term career paralegals, and those seeking several years of experience as a paralegal before considering law school.

As an intellectual property paralegal, you will play a crucial role in supporting our intellectual property practice. You will assist attorneys with the preparation and management of patent and trademark portfolios and conduct legal research. Your role will involve filing patent and trademark applications and related documents and docketing and monitoring incoming actions, filed responses, and deadlines. You will also liaise with inventors, in-house counsel, USPTO personnel, and foreign counsel to facilitate preparation, prosecution, and maintenance of patents and trademarks.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist attorneys in the preparation, drafting, and review of patent and trademark documents.
Coordinate the docketing and reporting of official notices received from the USPTO and foreign patent offices.
Monitor docket deadlines relating to patent and trademark applications.
Liaise with clients, USPTO officials, inventors, and other parties involved in transactions.
Interact with foreign counsel to coordinate filing of patent and trademark applications outside of the U.S.
Provide administrative support to attorneys, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and handling correspondence.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, attorneys, and other professionals.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
High level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with preparing and filing patent and trademark applications.
Familiarity with the USPTO and patent and trademark applications.
Knowledge of patent and trademark docketing best practices.
History coordinating with foreign counsel to obtain international patent protection.
Understanding of laws and regulations relating to patents and trademarks in the U.S. and in other countries.
