Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Family Law Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in family law and possess excellent administrative and drafting skills. This role involves supporting attorneys in various aspects of family law cases, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and compliant with legal standards. The Family Law Paralegal will play a crucial role in managing case files, conducting legal research, and assisting with the preparation of legal documents.
Responsibilities
- Draft and prepare legal documents related to family law cases, including petitions, motions, and agreements.
- Conduct thorough legal research to support case preparation and strategy.
- Manage case files using iManage or similar document management systems.
- Transcribe legal documents and correspondence as needed.
- Proofread all legal documents for accuracy and compliance with applicable laws.
- Assist attorneys in trial preparation by organizing exhibits, witness lists, and other necessary materials.
- Maintain communication with clients to provide updates on case status and gather necessary information.
- Ensure compliance with tribal law regulations when applicable.
- Collaborate with other legal professionals within the firm to ensure seamless case management.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a paralegal or in a similar role within a law office, specifically focusing on family law.
- Strong skills in legal drafting and proofreading to ensure high-quality documentation.
- Familiarity with tribal law regulations is preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of workers' compensation law or patent law is a plus.
- Proficient in using document management software such as iManage.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
