We provide patent prosecution support, assist organizations with efficiencies and process improvements, and conduct training for our clients.
About the Role:
As a Patent Paralegal, you will play a crucial role in supporting our clients and patent attorneys in all aspects of patent prosecution. You will manage patent applications, conduct research, maintain records, and ensure compliance with all USPTO regulations. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and a passion for intellectual property law. In addition to these responsibilities, if you enjoy training and developing innovative solutions, your role could be expanded to support our other service areas. While the start of this role is classified as part-time, the goal would be to transition this role to full-time as the company continues to grow.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with preparing and filing patent applications and all phases of patent prosecution
- Manage and maintain a prosecution docket and follow-up to meet due dates and deadlines
- Maintain and organize patent files and databases
- Communicate with clients, attorneys, and foreign associates regarding patent matters
- Research patent laws, rules, and regulations
- Collaborate with client and administrative teams to create, implement, and maintain standardized protocols
- Provide administrative support to patent attorneys, company leadership, and other team members
Required Skills:
- Excellent technology skills, including patent management software and MS Office Suite proficiency
- Ability to work independently and remotely with minimal supervision
- High level of initiative, responsibility, dedication, and accuracy
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete numerous tasks under time constraints
- Able to manage shifting priorities
- Docketing experience a plus
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree with paralegal certification is preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a patent paralegal. Strong understanding of patent laws, rules, and procedures. Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships.
Pay range & compensation package:
$40-$50 per hour, depending on qualifications. Flexible work hours in a fully remote role! Opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients and projects. Quarterly and annual bonus incentive plans offered.
