As our firm continues to expand, we are seeking an Associate with a minimum of 4 years of direct trademark experience, including clearance, prosecution, and enforcement. This role offers the chance to work on innovative trademark issues for high-profile clients. The ideal candidate will have experience managing both U.S. and international trademark portfolios, with specific expertise in trademark clearance, prosecution, and investigations. Successful applicants will possess strong academic credentials, excellent legal writing and critical thinking skills, and be highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee U.S. and international trademark and patent portfolios.
- Conduct trademark and patent clearance searches and provide strategic advice.
- Draft, file, and prosecute trademark and patent applications.
- Handle IP enforcement actions, including oppositions, cancellations, and litigation.
- Advise clients on IP strategy, including licensing and transactional matters.
- Conduct IP due diligence for mergers and acquisitions.
- Stay current with developments in IP law and provide training to clients and team members.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the Virginia state bar and in good standing.
- 3 or more years of experience in IP law, with a focus on trademark and patent prosecution and enforcement.
- Strong academic credentials and excellent legal writing and research skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and team members.
