We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual with substantive industry experience, at least one year of law firm experience and a degree in material, chemical, mechanical or biomedical engineering (or a related field) to join our busy patent counseling & prosecution practice. The ideal candidate will have industry experience and knowledge over a wide range of disciplines and technologies within chemical engineering or material science. Duties include but are not limited to: conduct prior art database searches for patentability and freedom to operate analyses; analyze patent and scientific papers and documents to assist patent attorneys on patent prosecution, counseling, and litigation; and draft patent applications and responses to office actions. Must have superb technical, written and verbal communication skills in English. Broad scientific knowledge in mechanical engineering and/or biomedical engineering is required and an advanced degree is a plus. Individual must possess initiative, be a fast learner, and work well with others. Must be a registered US patent agent, or be eligible to sit for the USPTO registration exam and otherwise meet the requirements for registration as a patent agent. The expected annual pay range for this position is $125,000 - $205,000. Please note that final offer amount will be dependent on geographic location, applicable experience and skillset of the candidate.
