Minimum qualifications:
- JD, LL.B., equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience.
- Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., have registered in-house status) in the state in which the position is located.
- 7 years of attorney-level experience in government, in-house, or at a law firm with experience in public sector technology contract drafting and negotiation.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with large law firm or technology in-house supporting public sector agreements.
- Experience in managing customers and clients.
- Knowledge of how the Federal Acquisition Regulation and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement impact cloud sales to government customers.
- Ability to distill complex topics into easy-to-understand and digest issues.
- Ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment by finding pragmatic and creative ways to support business professionals.
- Active U.S. Government Top Secret Security Clearance with Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (TS/SCI).

In this role, you will support the growing Google Public Sector cloud business, with a focus on transactional, counseling, and compliance issues. You will have experience in supporting direct and indirect public sector transactions, developing agreement strategy, counseling business executives, and managing regulations that apply to federal and state/local government technology procurements.
You will serve as lead lawyer on Google Public Sector channel/partner business transactions (i.e., indirect transactions), partner programs, and related channel compliance issues.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $224,000-$319,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Counsel on engagements with public sector customers. Serve as lead transactions lawyer on agreements with public sector systems integrators, managed service partners, resellers, distributors, and other channel partners. Review, draft, and negotiate cloud agreements with public sector customers and partners.
- Collaborate with our government relations team to respond to emerging cloud regulations impacting cybersecurity and public sector cloud offerings.
- Develop scalable mechanisms to provide legal support to the growing Google Public Sector channel team.
- Develop controls to support company-wide compliance with channel customer contract commitments. Support compliance with applicable public sector procurement rules, company policies, and applicable law.
- Advise internal stakeholders on legal issues and risks impacting the Google cloud pubic sector business. Serve as company-wide subject matter expert in the field of indirect state/local and federal government contracting.
