We are a boutique law firm specializing in intellectual property. We serve a diverse group of clients, including large and small companies in various technology areas. Our team strives to deliver the highest quality work for our clients. We are seeking an experienced Legal Assistant or Paralegal skilled in supporting patent preparation and prosecution in the United States and in coordinating non-US (foreign) patent prosecution. The person filling this position may work from either our Beaverton Oregon or Austin Texas locations, or may possibly work remotely from Central, Mountain or Pacific time zones.

Candidate must have experience filing documents with the USPTO for all phases of the US patent prosecution process and experience retrieving information from the USPTO patent and trademark systems. Candidate must also have experience with coordinating foreign patent prosecution, including filing PCTs applications and docketing foreign patent matters. Experience with Prolaw, Anaqua, iManage or similar document and practice management systems is a plus. Candidate must understand docketing and must possess the skills necessary to draft and edit complex documents and should have experience with preparation and filing of IDSs. Candidate must also have strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.

Proficiency in MS Office (MS Word, MS Excel), Adobe Acrobat required

Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required, and paralegal certificate is a plus

5+ years prior related experience
