Overview
Long-time Denton law firm seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to attorneys by managing various administrative tasks, ensuring the efficient operation of our legal practice. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.

Responsibilities

Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as Lexis-Nexis and other databases.
Manage case files and maintain an organized filing system for easy access to documents.
Review and proofread legal documents for accuracy and compliance with relevant laws.
Coordinate communication with clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in legal matters while maintaining professional phone etiquette.
Support estate planning processes by preparing necessary documentation and client correspondence.
Perform data entry tasks to ensure all case-related information is accurately recorded in document management systems.
Assist in patent law matters by organizing documentation and tracking deadlines related to filings.
Collaborate with team members on various projects, ensuring timely completion of tasks.

Qualifications

3+ years of proven experience as a Legal Assistant/Paralegal or in a similar role within a legal environment is preferred.
Familiarity with legal case management software and document management systems is advantageous. Working knowledge of Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Strong proofreading skills with an eye for detail to ensure high-quality documentation.
Knowledge of estate planning, probate or civil law is a plus but not mandatory.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for effective client interaction.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
