Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Legal Secretary to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive administrative support to attorneys, ensuring the smooth operation of the office and assisting with various legal tasks. This role requires proficiency in legal terminology, document management, and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

Prepare and review legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, and motions.
Conduct legal research using tools such as Lexis-Nexis to support case preparation.
Maintain and organize case files, ensuring all documents are accurately filed and easily accessible.
Assist attorneys with legal drafting and document review to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Schedule appointments, manage calendars, and coordinate meetings for attorneys.
Communicate effectively with clients, court personnel, and other stakeholders.
Utilize legal software such as PCLaw for case management and billing purposes.
Support paralegals in various tasks related to patent law and other areas of law as needed.

Qualifications

Must be fluent in Mandarin Chinese
Proven experience as a Legal Secretary or in a similar administrative role within a law firm.
Strong knowledge of legal terminology and procedures.
Proficiency in document review, legal drafting, and legal administrative tasks.
Familiarity with research tools such as Lexis-Nexis is highly desirable.
Experience or knowledge in patent law is a plus.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
A background as a paralegal or relevant certification is advantageous but not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
