We are looking for an experienced Patent Paralegal/Secretary who can bring dedication, organization, and thorough knowledge of patent prosecution procedures to our office. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside a skilled team at a prestigious intellectual property firm in Northern Virginia.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct support to patent attorneys throughout the patent prosecution process, ensuring compliance with USPTO requirements and deadlines.
Prepare, file, and manage patent applications and related legal documents with accuracy and attention to detail.
Docket and monitor key deadlines, utilizing docketing software to keep attorneys informed and on track.
Draft and manage communications with clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders regarding patent prosecution matters.
Maintain organized case files, ensuring quick access to necessary documents and records.
Leverage proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel), PDF editors, and docketing programs to streamline office and filing tasks.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of recent secretarial experience specifically in patent prosecution, with a strong understanding of USPTO procedures and requirements.
Required in-person work at our Fairfax office.
Direct experience supporting patent attorneys, demonstrating the ability to anticipate needs and manage deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel), PDF editing, and docketing software.
Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to work independently and in a fast-paced legal environment.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a client-service mindset.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $75,000.00 per year
