Armstrong Teasdale LLP is seeking Patent Agents to join its Intellectual Property Services group. The ideal candidate should possess patent preparation and prosecution experience in the software, computer science, electrical, or mechanical areas. Patent Agents assist patent attorneys with the preparation and prosecution of patent applications.

· Work hand-in-hand with inventors on newly created products
· Assist in the identification of patentable inventions
· Research current patented technologies to best assist clients in patentable work
· Draft patent applications with the assistance of the patent team
· Track the patent application process from initial application to granted patent to ensure the team remains on track
· Complete ability searches regularly
· Solve client challenges and respond to client needs
· Respond to office actions and correspond with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
· Consistently meet billable hour requirements

Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering
Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science
Required Licenses and/or Certifications: USPTO Registration required
Required Experience: 1 year of professional experience
Preferred Experience: 2+ years of experience
Physical Activity: The employee will be required to sit for prolonged periods and work on a computer.
