Trademark Paralegal (Bay Area, California)
Verso Law Group is seeking a Trademark Paralegal. We prefer someone who is interested in working at least 3 days per week in our Napa or San Francisco offices.

Responsibilities:
- Manage docket and deadlines for domestic and international trademark portfolios using Alt Legal software;
- Prepare and file US trademark applications, responses, miscellaneous forms and maintenance filings, including assignments, requests to divide, statements of use, extensions and renewals;
- Prepare international registrations and renewals, including WIPO filings and communications with clients and foreign counsel;
- Instruct foreign counsel related to trademark applications and maintenance, including preparation of powers of attorney and legalizations;
- Communicate with clients related to routine trademark prosecution matters and trademark portfolio management, including collecting specimens of use and generating status reports;
- Enter time entries and fees on billing software and maintain accurate records of tasks, i.e., timekeeping;
- Review and assess monitoring reports and watch hits;
- Draft correspondence to clients and third parties regarding trademark use and infringement;
- Assist with drafting responses to office actions;
- Assist with IP due diligence and trademark clearance searches;
- Assist with Trademark Trial and Appeal Board filings and docketing.
Expected Skills:
- Detail-orientated with superior organizational skills, including docket deadline management;
- Ability to manage workflow and multi-task with flexibility to adjust based on shifting priorities;
- Ability to act as interface between attorneys and clients;
- Willingness to learn new technology for successful management of trademark docket;
- Ability to work as a team, through effective communication, as well as independently in managing specific client trademark portfolios;
- Ability to promptly record time and use billing software.
Qualifications:
- A college degree and/or a paralegal certificate with commensurate work experience;
- Experience with Alt Legal software a plus, or other database management experience;
- Experience with time entry and Office Suite.
