We are seeking a seasoned Patent Prosecution Paralegal to join our client! This role involves managing patent documents, maintaining client relationships, and working closely with attorneys and legal assistants. The successful candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of US Patent Prosecution and the ability to handle various paralegal tasks efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Manage, prepare, and file patent documents with the USPTO
- Maintain and update client files, including applications, responses, and filings with the USPTO
- Handle IDS submissions and maintain their records
- Obtain file histories, document translations, and non-patent prior art
- Oversee patent prosecution dockets, keep track of docket dates, and prioritize tasks accordingly
- Prepare necessary legal forms such as declarations, power of attorney forms, and foreign filing instructions
- Communicate professionally with the USPTO, clients, and foreign associates
- Foster strong relationships with clients while handling confidential information
- Mentor and train junior paralegals and legal assistants
- Understand and utilize USPTO Filings, USPTO Searches, Patent Application, Patent Preparation, and U.S. Patent skills effectively.
- Must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience specifically in patent prosecution.
- Proficiency in USPTO Filings is required.
- Familiarity with PCT and international prosecution, a plus.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Prior experience working directly with clients, in a paralegal capacity.
