Role Summary
Thomson Reuters Legal Department seeks a highly motivated Intellectual Property Paralegal to support our copyright protection efforts. In this role, you will collaborate with lawyers and business partners to investigate and triage infringement matters; formulate strategies for copyright rights protection; support all aspects of dispute/litigation management; direct post-resolution assessments to provide feedback on best practices for protecting our valuable intellectual property rights; and update process documents. As a member of the Legal Department, you will also assist in supporting other matters, according to your interests and the needs of the Department. This is a global role, with the United States as the primary geographic focus. The role will report into the Litigation practice group, and also work closely with the Innovation & Product practice group.
About The Role
In this opportunity as an
Intellectual Property Paralegal, your Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities will be:
- Assistance in management of copyright disputes and litigation
- Investigate and document instances of infringement
- Conduct legal research and formulate matter-specific strategies
- Draft correspondence and legal documents, under the supervision of a lawyer
- Coordinate with in-house lawyers, business partners and outside lawyers, as needed
- Manage matter files, budgets and schedules/deadlines; review outside lawyer invoices
- Develop process improvements in coordination with wider team
- Update internal documentation related to processes and guidance
- Collect and analyze IP enforcement data; prepare quarterly reporting
About You

- Understanding of generative AI technologies
- Experience with legal invoice systems, such as Thomson Reuters Legal Tracker

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The location(s) for this role include one or more of the following states: KS, MI, MN, NY, VA. The base compensation range for the role in any of those locations is $87,200 - $161,900. The base compensation range in other locations may vary. Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.
