Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Litigation Associate to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various areas of law, including environmental law, workers compensation law, personal injury law, and patent law. This role requires excellent legal research and writing skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple cases efficiently. The Litigation Associate will work closely with senior attorneys to support litigation efforts and contribute to the success of our clients.
Duties
- Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw to support case preparation.
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
- Assist in the preparation of cases for trial by organizing evidence and preparing exhibits.
- Attend court hearings and depositions as needed, providing support to senior attorneys.
- Communicate with clients to gather information and provide updates on case progress.
- Collaborate with other members of the legal team to develop case strategies.
- Maintain organized case files and ensure compliance with all legal procedures.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Experience or coursework in environmental law, workers compensation law, personal injury law, or patent law is preferred.
- Proficiency in legal research tools such as Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw.
- Strong writing skills with the ability to produce clear and concise legal documents.
- Previous experience in a law office or legal administrative role is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
