Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess strong research and writing skills, along with a solid understanding of various areas of law, including Environmental law and Patent law. This role is crucial in supporting attorneys by performing a variety of administrative and clerical tasks, ensuring that all legal documents are accurate and well-prepared.

Duties

Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as Westlaw to gather relevant case law and statutes.
Draft, proofread, and edit legal documents, ensuring clarity and compliance with legal standards.
Assist in the preparation of patent applications and environmental compliance documents.
Maintain organized case files and documentation using PCLaw for efficient case management.
Support attorneys in trial preparation by organizing exhibits, evidence, and witness information.
Communicate effectively with clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in cases to gather necessary information.
Perform general clerical duties such as filing, data entry, and managing correspondence.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field is preferred.
Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw is essential.
Familiarity with PCLaw or similar case management software is a plus.
Strong writing skills with the ability to draft clear and concise legal documents.
Excellent proofreading skills to ensure accuracy in all written materials.
Knowledge of Environmental law and Patent law is highly desirable.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
