Intellectual Property Counsel
We are seeking an intellectual property attorney to provide strategic counsel on all facets of IP law across Crane NXT’s multiple business units.

Basic Function:
The Intellectual Property Counsel will beprimarily responsible for providing strategic IP counsel and leadership on all facets of IP law across multiple business units. This position will support the company’s IP protection strategies, work with engineers and outside counsel to draft, file and prosecute patent applications, navigate freedom-to-operate issues, perform trademark analysis, review and revise IP-related agreements, assist in resolving IP disputes and/or participate in due diligence related to potential M&A transactions. This position reports directly to, and works closely with, the Sr. Director of IP and will collaborate effectively across the Company. This hybrid opportunity will be based in Greater Philadelphia, PA.
Responsibilities:
- Support the company’s IP protection strategies.
- Conduct prior art, patentability, landscape and freedom-to-operate searches.
- Secure freedom-to-operate for Company’s products, including analysis of competitive landscape.
- Perform trademark clearance and analysis.
- Provide counseling on copyright protection matters.
- Draft, review, and revise intellectual property related agreements.
- Assist in resolving IP disputes such as oppositions, litigations, etc.
- Participate in due diligence reviews in connection with potential M&A transactions.
- Assume responsibility for special projects that may be assigned from time-to-time.
Qualifications:
- JD from an accredited law school.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience as an IP attorney with experience working in-house in an industrial technology or manufacturing company.
- Experience with IP licensing and transactions preferred.
- Self-starter with a sense of urgency, ability to prioritize, handles unanticipated situations effectively and works well under pressure in a demanding multi-client environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to convert complex legal concepts into useful business guidance and the ability to engage personnel across all levels of the Company.
- Ability to work independently.
- Commitment to the highest standards of ethical conduct.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive legal matters.
- Occasional domestic and international travel may be required (less than 20%).

Pay: $150,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
