What’s the job?
The Intellectual Property (IP) Law Department is seeking an IP Paralegal to join this exciting team in support of Saint-Gobain North America. The individual will be responsible for assisting Division IP Counsel across multiple company businesses in a variety of IP-related responsibilities, including IP workflow, contract review and organization, IP due diligence, and trademark clearance and usage. The role will be hybrid and Malvern-based in order to support on-site IP and administrative functions.
What will you do?
Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- IP Workflow: Work with Division IP Counsel and external law firms to develop and maintain best in class workflow for worldwide patent prep and pros
- Contract-related responsibilities: Work with Division Counsel across numerous business units to:
- Assist with reviewing and negotiating changes to our standard contract forms
- Assist with the review, redline and negotiation of various vendor, partner, and other strategic agreements, including development agreements, confidentiality agreements, license agreements and other IP-related agreements
- Establish and maintain system for standardizing and cross-referencing various IP-related agreements.
- IP/Trademark-related responsibilities:
- Work with Division Counsel to assist with IP due diligence and trademark clearance searches
- Assist with trademark clearance projects, including U.S. screening and full searches and international screening and external counsel searches
- Advise internal teams on trademark usage guidelines
- Administrative-related responsibilities:
- Proofread and edit IP-related documents to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Prepare reports on IP portfolio status and contribute to strategic planning for IP management
- Other on-site administrative support or team project work for IP counsel as required
What do you bring?
- Bachelors degree is preferred
- Paralegal certificate is preferred
- 5+ years paralegal experience supporting patent prep and pros and contract preparation
- Experience supporting trademark clearance and usage is strongly preferred; experience can be at a law firm or in-house
- Familiarity with Anaqua platform is strongly preferred
- Intermediate usage of Office360 (Word, Excel)
