Job Overview
We’re seeking a sharp Estate Plan Drafter who can provide attorneys on our drafting program with high-quality and accurate estate plan drafts for their clients. You’ll work with our team to prepare estate plan drafts and help keep us on track with our promised turnaround times. - This position is fully virtual.
- Our business hours generally are weekdays between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM MT. Billable hours may be split between business hours and after-hours as needed.
- The Estate Plan Drafter will provide a reliable computer at their own expense and a work environment conducive to undivided attention for both drafting and the occasional virtual calls with our drafting team as needed.
- We will provide the Estate Plan Drafter with access to the lawyer’s chosen drafting software, a business email address, Microsoft Office, and user licenses to our software systems that facilitate our workflow and systems.
- This position will begin on an as-needed basis and anticipated hours to start are around 10-15 hours per week, although on any given week the workload could fluctuate up or down. This position has the potential to evolve into a full-time commitment over the next 3-12 months. Pay is negotiable depending on experience and quality of references.
Duties
- Prepare accurate and complete estate plan drafts for our attorneys in accordance with the data they provide, and communicate with the attorneys from time to time to clarify any questions so as not to delay the preparation of the estate plan draft
- Complete drafting software interviews, assemble documents, make post-assembly edits, review documents for accuracy, recommend custom language based on data provided by the attorney for each estate plan, complete the steps on the drafting checklist, and proofread
- Prepare estate plan summaries, asset spreadsheets, deeds into trust, business assignments, and guardianship documents based on our templates
- Use our operational systems to keep our team informed of your progress and stay up to date on our standard operating procedures as those may be updated over time, and openly communicate any inefficiencies or opportunities you notice in our processes so that we may incrementally improve our service over time
- Be flexible, attentive, communicative, and courteous in all interactions with our team and our attorneys
Qualifications
- A qualified candidate will have an attorney license (active or inactive), a paralegal certificate, or at least two years of experience working with a law firm, preferably in an estate planning setting
- Drafting experience in WealthDocx and ElderDocx is required
- Drafting experience in ADAPT and/or InterActive Legal is highly preferred
- Applicants must have excellent communication skills and organizational skills
- Proficient with MS Office products
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines with quick turnaround times
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
