We are seeking two Attorneys to join our growing company. The ideal candidates will have an interest in various areas of law, including Real Estate Law, Landlord/Tenant, Contract Law and Debt Collections Law.
Recent Law School Graduates are welcomed. We will guide you through some of our needs, some legal practice and documents. You can work from home or your own office.
This role requires some legal research skills, legal drafting and complaint filings, and the ability to occasionally appear in Court in North and or Jersey Shore area County Courts. You will be responsible for representing our Company interests in various legal proceedings.
Responsibilities
- Draft legal documents, including complaints, pleadings, and briefs based on documents and information we provide.
- Represent the Company in court proceedings and negotiations.
- Keep the Company informed of adversary responses, trial dates and general case management.
- Timely file case submissions.
- Prepare for trial/court appearances by organizing evidence and developing case theories.
- Litigate cases effectively while maintaining a reasonable expectation of settlement without time intensive trials.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the bar in New Jersey and/or Connecticut. New admissions are welcome.
- Understand basic business practices.
- Proficiency in Westlaw or similar legal research tools.
- Have legal document drafting skills.
- Ability to follow up and follow through.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to think critically under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently, timely and expeditiously.
