Job Summary
DiNovo Price LLP, a patent and antitrust litigation law firm in Austin, Texas, is seeking a Technical Advisor to work as a contractor for its Patent Litigation practice.
Candidate will be primarily responsible for, but not limited to:
- providing technological guidance to attorneys in analyzing patent infringement (i.e. comparing infringing products to the claims of a patent asserted in litigation)
- analyzing prior art (i.e., comparing earlier patents, publications, and products to the claims of a patent asserted in litigation)
- reviewing source code
- analyzing claim charts (i.e., charts that compare the characteristics of infringing products to the elements of the claims of a patent asserted in litigation)
Guidance provided by the candidate will be used to: prepare lawsuits filed in federal court, prepare witnesses for testimony in depositions and at trial; prepare attorneys to examine witnesses at depositions and at trial; and prepare written reports of technical expert witnesses.
Experience with patent infringement litigation or patent prosecution is helpful, though not required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (advanced degree preferred) in Computer Science/Engineering or Electrical Engineering
- Detail oriented, organized & team oriented
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Ability to multi-task independently under deadlines, and prioritize and manage case assignments
- Ability to effectively present information and professionally respond to questions
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- Ability to recognize inefficiencies in work process and contribute to improvements
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate high integrity
- Computer self-sufficient (complete Microsoft Office Suite)
- Proficiency with specialized software and online programs as required
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $45.00 - $65.00 per hour
